Hello, and welcome to the Urban Interactive Software Website. On this site you will find the projects I am currently working on, or have completed.  The software is Freeware and is developed in my spare time (hence this is why it takes so long!).  I am working on two remakes concurrently.  The first is one of my childhood favourites 3D Starstrike by Realtime Software.  As a child my favourite arcade game was Star Wars, especially the sit down cabin version.  When 3D Star Strike was released for the ZX Spectrum in 1984 finally I had a version I could play at home without using up all my pocket money. I loved the vector graphics, but often wondered what it would be like in solid 3D and so I started to code my own version of the ZX Spectrum Game.  First I worked with Dark Basic, but the language was very new at the time and updates meant my old version wouldn’t work or needed recoding.  Finally I started again using Blitz 3D.  To check out the latest on this project you can click on the WIP button above.

Whilst coding 3D Star Strike I developed an editor for the third party particle system I was using.  You can download the editor Candy Store from the above Software button or click the below link.  Please note this is just an editor, you will need to own a copy of the Particle Candy to use the final output.

CANDY STORE - A free particle editor for the Particle Candy engine from X-Pressive.

During coding 3D Star Strike I explored the possibility of creating a single surface system for the surface section of the game.  In non techie speak, I was trying to develop a faster way of creating, and moving the planet surface you fly over.  A side product of this was I recreate a 3D game map from another old ZX Spectrum called Ant Attack.  It worked very well, so from this small test I decided to carry on and develope a full remake of the game.  You can also see my progress on this under the WIP section of this website.

As you can possibly tell I’m not too hot on creating 3D models or creating music.  Can you help?  If you can, or if you have any comments or suggestions then why not drop me a line using the contact link above.
